Really, it's not so bad being a horse.
There are the obvious disadvantages, of course, but those are outweighed in part by the time Eight can spend with her, one-sided conversations and gentle touches, with no concern for propriety, time a lowly guard could never share with a princess.
And there's the fact that Angelo and Jessica seem to have no idea just how wide a horse's field of vision is, how sharp their hearing.
She often catches them in their little courtship dance, a kiss when they think no one can see, wildflower blossoms teasingly sprinkled in the other's hair. Sometimes more, loosened clothing and soft gasps of pleasure and words that would have made Medea blush had she been human.
They truly think nobody knows, and from observing the others, Medea thinks they're right.
Almost.
