"Do you think Eight will be all right?" Jessica asked as they watched the wedding coach disappear from sight.

"With King Trode for a father-in-law? He'll need all the luck he can get."

"I'm going to miss him."

Angelo nodded, paused. "I wouldn't be averse to following his example, you know."

She stared at him. "Was that a proposal? Because if it was, it's the worst one in history."

"Depends on your answer. If it's yes, then it was a proposal. If it's no," he leaned down to kiss her, "then I'll have to keep trying to change your mind."
